Why consider a valuation?

A valuation of your business may be desired for various reasons. For example, prior to selling or acquiring a business, securing financing in an investment decision, a transfer or gift within the family, divorce, death, conflict or legal dispute between shareholders, buying out or attracting shareholders, or simply to understand the value of your business.

A business valuation also helps entrepreneurs make strategic decisions. Sophista supports entrepreneurs who want to maximize the value of their company and make their strategic choices based on a detailed business valuation (value-based management).

A business valuation is not static; many factors influence value, such as historical results, future expectations, market trends, economic conditions, etc. Sophista examines these aspects in detail and selects the most appropriate valuation methodology for each situation. We usually looking at (future) cash flows and the company’s risk profile. Given the subjectivity nature of valuation methods and the interpretation of financial statements and other information, we present the value of the company or share package in a range.
